Farm to Cookie

Sourcing

When it comes to sourcing the ingredients for my Napa Dog Cookies, I first look for local and organic. When they have to come from further away like my coconut oil, coconut shreds and coconut or cassava flour, I only purchase from reputable companies like Bob’s Red Mill.

My first ingredient is organic sweet potatoes that are grown in Oregon. Next, we add the most amazing organic cold pressed and unrefined coconut oil. Then organic coconut flour or cassava flour and organic flaxseed meal and sea salt with iodine.

For my Coconut Carrot Cookie I source my organic carrots from local farmers all in Northern California. For my wild blueberries I purchase them fresh frozen from organic farms in the Pacific Northwest.

Napa Dog Cookies use all human grade ingredients and yes, you can eat them too!

Baking

I bake all my cookies by hand in small batches right here in Napa, California. Each cookie is hand scooped, pressed and stamped with the ND logo. They bake for 2 ½ hours at a low temperature to lock in flavor and take out all but 5% moisture. This way I don’t have to add any preservatives.
